Hello! I hope you have enjoyed this series so far. Today I have one of my good friends doing a post, I got to Church with her, and she is also my classmate! Enjoy!
- Tell me a little bit about yourself, hobbies, family, background, ect.
My name is Helena Godfrey, I am 13, I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, I am a member of Hazelwood Presbyterian Church. I have two sisters and two brothers, I am the oldest of five. I live in the most beautiful place on earth, Canton NC. I love hiking my grand-dad’s majestic mountain with my hunting dog, Oliver. I love being with my friends young, old and everywhere in between and I love being with all my family. I really enjoy riding horses, and I am home schooled and go to a co-op called Classical Conversations and I have the best tutor named Anna.
2. What is your favorite thing about Christmas?/ How does is bring home the meaning of Christmas to you?
My favorite thing about Christmas is seeing all my family and friends. I love going to church around Christmas time. But the best part about going to church is worshiping the Lord together, like we will in heaven.
3. What are some of you family traditions?
Oh man, we have a ton of traditions! Some time in the middle of December, all the girls in my family go and watch the nutcracker. We always go to both of my grandparents’ houses and help decorate their trees. On Christmas eve in the morning, all the kids and my grandpa go to a local pancake house and choose a present for my nana. Then we go to lunch at my great- grandma’s house and we all get a pair of matching pajamas. Christmas eve night we all go to my grandmother’s house for a big dinner and celebrate Christmas with all my cousins. Christmas eve, late at night, me and my sisters and my mom, (And hopefully Ellie too this year!) go to the midnight service at my church which has been going on for over 100 years. Then once we get home we change into our matching pajamas and either sleep in my room or up stairs.
4. What is the best present you have ever gotten, who gave it to you, and why did you like it so much?
The best Christmas present I have ever gotten is the trampoline I got last Christmas. I love this gift so much because it gives us a reason to be together outside off of electronics.
5. Explain your dream Christmas.
My dream Christmas would be my friends from Alabama come to visit and stay at our house. Imagine, everyone being at our house and we get snowed in and go sledding on our great big hill. The come inside and drink hot co-co and watch Christmas movies all night.
6. Is Christmas your favorite holiday? Why or why not?
Heck yeah!
7. Which is better: Christmas or Easter? Why?
I’d say we could not have Easter without Christmas, and we could not have our Salvation without Easter so it’s not up to us to decide.
8. What are your hopes for this Christmas?
This Christmas, I want it not to snow on Christmas day or Christmas eve, because then we could not go anywhere. I want all my family to come from wherever they are. I also want all the people in my life who are not yet Christians for God to show them the way of life.
Welp, there you have it! Next week we have Hadley Johnson! It’s getting closer and closer to Christmas!
Being a Christian is absolutely wonderful. I think it is amazing that the God of the universe who made the 7 billion trillion stars and . . .
Until the Christmas music started to play on the radio, and we got out the tree and lights, I forgot how much I love Christmas . . .
