My Testimony- Part 2

Today we have a testimony from Ernestine Mathis. Ernestine is one of the sweet ladies who attends my church, she loves her family, teaching sunday school, children, and just people in general. She loves the Lord and always brings a smile to your face just by walking in the room.

“Although as a child my parents took me to church several times a week, I was an adult before I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. My dad was a minister in a denomination that emphasized works more than grace, that salvation could be lost by not repenting after committing sin or not living up to a standard impossible to attain. I lived in fear of dying and going to hell.After marriage we began going to church that taught grace, a concept I was unfamiliar with. One Sunday night at church I was convicted by the Holy Spirit of my need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, & I accepted Him. Now I no longer live in fear of losing salvation but instead my fear is a reverential fear of a Holy God. He has used me to teach children in church, which is my calling. His love fills me with love for those around me. 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” CSB version of the Holy Scripture ”
