Whew! I made it! I think this has been the longest series I have ever done on this blog.
I hope you enjoy this post from Gabrielle Stafford.
Tell me a little bit about yourself, hobbies, family, background, etc.
My parents gave birth to four girls, and I am their third daughter. I am a child of God, and I’m so excited for where He’s taking me. I love writing, photography, dancing (I do a lot of English Country dancing), roller skating, reading, meeting new people, hugs, politics, all things old fashioned, musicals, history, sports; I’m a huge Frank Sinatra fan, and I started playing the violin at the age of twelve. I’m twenty-one now, and have picked up some piano, ukulele, and acoustic guitar.
I am passionate about young people, but especially girls in relation to abstinence, purity, modesty, singleness, godly courtships, and just assisting them where they are in life. I’m also passionate about politics, and simply people involved, as citizens, and especially as Christians.
What is your favorite part about Christmas?/ How does it bring home the meaning of Christmas to you?
My favorite part about Christmas are the songs. Songs such as, Silent Night, O Come, O Come Emmanuel, O Come All Ye Faithful, Jesus Born On This Day, Noel, and Who Would Imagine A King. These songs speak of the meaning of Christmas, and honestly are what really get me thinking about the reason for the season. They celebrate Jesus, and the wonder of His birth.
What are some of your family traditions?
Well, we don’t have many Christmas traditions, but one we just started is to pray and love on Jesus a little bit before opening gifts, and another one we always do is play Christmas music while opening gifts.
What is the best present you have ever gotten, who gave it to you and why did you like it so much?
Well, if we’re talking Christmas presents, not sure, but just to pick one off the top of my head, – The complete vinyl set for Hamilton The Musical. It was a gift from my older sister for both my younger sister and I. I love that soundtrack, and vinyls, so I was super excited!
Explain your dream Christmas.
Hmm, well I guess my dream Christmas would be simply a day full of listening, playing and singing Christmas music, maybe a random dance party, a fun photoshoot in the snow, good food, and watching Christmas movies. Yep, sounds good!
Is Christmas your favorite holiday? Why or Why not?
Well, my favorite holiday is actually Independence Day, but Christmas is right up there when considering the significance of it – the birth of Jesus Christ.
Which is better: Christmas or Easter? Why?
I don’t think that I can choose one over the other honestly. At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus, and at Easter, Resurrection Discovery Day, we celebrate his death and resurrection, so both are equally important in my personal opinion.
What are your hopes for this Christmas?
In all honesty, this Christmas I wanted to rest. I had been working a lot, and there had been a lot of mental energy being used, so I simply wanted to rest and relax.
