Hello! I know it’s after Christmas but I had so many girls doing posts that I had to go into January, but I hope you are still enjoying it! This week I have a post from Natalie Brill!
About myself:
Well, my name is Natalie. I am fourteen years old, and I have one brother who is twenty seven. I have been a Christian for seven years. My two favorite Bible characters are Ruth and Esther. I like them because they remind me to put my hope in the Lord, and to have courage and to trust in Him even when things look hopeless. Some of my favorite hobbies include: horseback riding, playing piano, painting, singing, and annoying my older brother. I am “born and raised” in South Carolina and have never moved from the house that I lived in as a baby.
Favorite part about Christmas/ memories/ traditions
My two favorite parts about Christmas (other than the fact that Jesus was born, of course) are singing those good, old Christmas carols with people I love. I also enjoy the feeling of finding the perfect gift for someone in the store, and knowing that you have to buy it for a special person in your life because, he/she would love it! I have already mentioned that I love to sing; singing to me is a special way of thanking God for sending Jesus to the world. Singing helps me put my overwhelming sense of gratitude for Jesus into words I know and love. This year a lot of our family traditions got forgotten, because this was the first Christmas since my wonderful Grandmother went to be with the Lord this past November. She was a huge part of my life, and I miss her with all my heart. She had a couple of debilitating diseases, and by the end she could barely move. The best present I got this year was a memory- an early gift from my grandmother. When I was little, Grandma and I developed a secret code with our hands. The code was a special way of saying “I love you”. My favorite memory happened not too long before she died. She was in bed, she could not really move, or talk, and she was on oxygen. I was holding her hand and then, plain as day, she squeezed our hand code for “ I love you”. She did this over and over and I did it, too. It meant a lot to me, knowing that she was saying that she loved me, even when she couldn’t speak.
Dream Christmas:
For my dream Christmas I want it to snow. I have never had a “white Christmas” and I want one sooooo badly. For now, I am stuck singing “I’m still dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I’ve never known.”
Favorite holiday/ hopes:
Christmas is my favorite holiday … although, Easter is nice too, so I have no idea. Well, my hope for Christmas 2020 is that people have their health, and that we would be able to celebrate as a family.
Other Notes:
Well, I hope y ’all enjoyed my blog post. I have never written one before, so I would really appreciate it if you’d cut me some slack. Thanks! God bless you all!
You did a great job Natalie! Next week we have a post from Gabrielle Stafford! If you enjoyed this post, let me know by leaving a like! See you next week!
