Part 2 of 150, ohh boy! I am going to do all of the psalms! Today we are looking at psalm 2, hope you enjoy!
Psalm two is a little confusing…. but this is what I got out of it.
1 Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The nations in other words, mankind rage at God and they plot things against him, but they are plotted in vain because we really can’t do anything to God.
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
The “leaders of this world” put themselves together and try making a name for themselves and try and break their bonds but God is too powerful and man cannot do anything, like I said.
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
God laughs at us! We try vain things but all God can do it laugh at us.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 “As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
In man’s sins the Lord must bring justice and so after he laughs at man, his wrath comes out.
7 I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
I think this is Jesus speaking because God’s son is Jesus and only Jesus can say that.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
Ask and you shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you.
10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
We need to not think lightly of out Lord, serve him with a good healthy fear.
12 Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Take refuge in Jesus and you will be blessed.
Hope y’all enjoyed this post, talk to you next week!
